Diatomaceous Earth is not only a bug killer and a flea control solution but it is also used for the health of your pets and animals as well, just like it is used for humans.
Food Grade D.E is perfectly safe and healthy for your pets and animals as much as it is safe for you. There are two ways to use D.E for your pets and you can find out here.
Feeding Animals Diatomaceous Earth
Once way your pets can benefit from D.E is by eating it. D.E can eradicate hookworms, roundworms, pinworms and whipworms. It is best advised that you feed your pets D.E for at least 30 days so that it can not only kill the adult worms but will also manage to kill any worm eggs that may hatch soon or smaller worms that are found inside the stomach and lungs.
If you are feeding dogs, you should give them one tablespoon of food grade D.E per day if the dog is over 50 pounds. If the dog is a small puppy then one teaspoon per day should be fine. If you are feeding bigger cats that are about 13 pounds, you can feed them 1 ½ teaspoons of food grade D.E. if you are feeding kittens ½ teaspoon should be more than enough. Kittens that are too small and are still being fed milk and liquids should not be given D.E until they have started digesting solid foods.Read more
